Union Members Stand Up Against Pay-cuts at Yamaguchi Gakuen

Imagine working at the same company for over 7 years, only to have your hours and salary slashed by 70%. Unthinkable, right? This is the harsh reality for one of our members at Yamaguchi Gakuen, despite their unlimited-term contract.

Things weren’t always like this. It all began in 2018 when our member refused to resign for maternity leave. Since then, the company has cut her hours to shreds, leading to a massive pay cut and the loss of unemployment benefits. Left with few options, she’s chosen to fight back against Yamaguchi Gakuen.
Despite two complaints filed with the Labour Commission in 2023 for negotiating in bad faith, Yamaguchi Gakuen refuses to work with the General Union towards a solution. That’s why we’re taking action! Join us for a leafleting action on January 14th at 12:30 PM.

Stand with our member and remind Yamaguchi Gakuen that employee well-being is an employer’s responsibility, regardless of full-time or part-time status.

RSVP HERE! See you there!
