Stand Together on March 20: No to War, No to Exclusion, Yes to Solidarity

Mar 3, 2026

On March 20, a broad coalition of community members and activists will gather in Osaka for the Anti-War, Anti-Exclusion 1,000 Person Demonstration under the banner of: “No Matter What, I’m Here — Don’t Exclude Me.” The demonstration will begin at 3:30pm at Horie Park (Nishi Ward), with the march starting at 4:00pm and proceeding through Amerikamura, Midosuji, and Namba. The action calls for solidarity across nationalities and backgrounds at a time when division, xenophobia, and militarism are being amplified both in Japan and globally.

For trade unionists, this message is clear and urgent. Workers—Japanese and non-Japanese alike—share the same workplaces, the same economic pressures, and the same interest in peace and democratic rights. Efforts to scapegoat migrants or normalize exclusion weaken all working people and distract from the struggle for fair wages, stable employment, and safe communities. Standing together publicly affirms that we reject discrimination and refuse to allow fear-based politics to divide us.

The General Union encourages members, families, and supporters to attend and show visible solidarity. Bringing union banners, signs, and voices to the streets strengthens the broader movement for equality and peace. If you are able, please join on March 20 and stand with fellow workers to say clearly: no to war, no to exclusion, and yes to solidarity.
