On the morning of January 1, 2024, approximately 500 trade union and community activists from Osaka and various parts of the Kansai region gathered in front of the Osaka Prefectural Police Headquarters. They came together to vocally oppose union busting and extend their support to the Kansai Ready-mixed Concrete Branch, Solidarity Union (Kan’nama).
The event witnessed the participation of numerous labour unions, including the General Union, alongside citizen groups backing Kan’nama, and local assembly members. Representatives from these groups delivered speeches, and the gathering featured the presentation of messages of solidarity from two National Diet members, Akiko Oishi and Yuko Ohtsubaki.
Despite the gusty winds, the rally concluded with a resounding chorus of chants.
