On the morning of January 1, 2023, about 500 workers and many union flags gathered in front of the Osaka Prefectural Police Headquarters. The New Year’s Day protest against a series of crackdowns on the Reatai-Union Kansai Ready-Mixed Concrete Branch (Kan’nama) was held again this year.

Representatives and speakers from the branch, supporting labor unions, and citizen organizations spoke out against the crackdown as illegal and called for continuing to fight for a just cause.
