5th Labor Consultation Volunteer Training Seminar, July 27

Jul 6, 2025

Please note this is a Japanese language training session

LINE messages that won’t stop in the middle of the night—could this be power harassment? You’re doing your best as a non-regular worker, but unreasonable things are getting on your nerves.  Sound familiar?

Most of us don’t really know each other at work. We’re isolated in the workplace. Union membership in Japan is said to be only 16%, so only a small number of people have access to systems of mutual support.

Why is there constant conflict between coworkers in care facilities?
Why can’t you clock in when your senior comes to work early?
Why is your salary never deposited on time?
Why is it always you who ends up quitting despite doing your best?

We want to change this reality.
We want to break through isolation, increase the number of places where people can say “I need help,”and create a community where people can tell each other, “You’ll be okay.”

As one step toward that goal, the General Union is offering a Labor Consultation Volunteer Training Seminar.

This is a 6-session program where you’ll learn the basic knowledge and mutual support skills needed for labor consultations through familiar topics like paid leave, social insurance, and harassment response.

You’re welcome to attend just one session, but completing all six will equip you with a solid foundation for handling labor consultations.

📅 5th Session Topic: Harassment
“Is this harassment?” “Where should I go for help?”
We’ll discuss real-life examples and think through key points in responding to consultations.

💡 Graduates Are Active in the Field!
Graduates of this seminar are now volunteering in real settings, such as street consultation events, union office consultations, and accompanying workers to the Labor Standards Office— always with experienced union members. Even if you’re nervous about handling consultations for the first time, you’ll always have someone to learn with and gain real experience.

Recommended for Anyone Who…
✅ Wants to respond calmly when someone seeks help
✅ Doesn’t want to ignore small voices
✅ You don’t need to be a union member—anyone interested is welcome!
