Toshiaki Asari, former Chair of the General Union, passed away suddenly in May 2026.
Toshi gave many years of service to the union and its members. He shared his knowledge, experience, and care with workers across Japan, and he played an important role in helping build and support the General Union.
Many people have asked whether they can make a contribution in his memory. In response, we have opened a time-limited memorial fund.
Contributions will be accepted until June 30, 2026.
Funds collected will be used to support Toshi’s family and to help cover necessary costs connected to a future remembrance gathering for members, friends, and comrades. Any remaining funds will be passed on to his family.
The union will keep a record of contributions received and how the fund is used.
