The General Union stands by the goal of making workplace environments fair and reasonable for all employees. Without stated LGBT protections, workers are at risk for: unfair dismissal or non-renewal, workplace harassment, as well as inability to access family and health benefits if they are even suspected to identify as LGBT. Employees in LGBT hostile or unknown environments can be at a severe disability, unable to communicate concerns and needs with their employers.
