Liam C. (Press Officer)
I’m Liam, originally from Glasgow in Scotland.
In the 7 years I’ve spent in Japan, I’ve worked with some great people. I’ve also worked for some truly awful ones too! So, in 2013 when I moved to Osaka, I became a member of the General Union. I believe that the best way to protect yourself from unfair and illegal practices in the workplace is to organize!
Since we formed our Osaka CNET branch just over a year ago, we’ve already made some great progress towards improving things in our daily working lives. However, there’s still a lot to be done and as such I’ve now decided to take on a more active role within the union executive. As a former journalist, I hope I can bring some of my experience to this new role and help the union continue to grow as we continue to work towards a better and more equal workplace for all.
Barry P. (Treasurer)
My name’s Barry, and I’m from Glasgow, Scotland. I’ve been with the Osaka BoE since August 2013, and been involved with the Union for about two years. I really enjoy my job, and so I’m involved with the C-NET Union because I think that together we can work for improved job security.
