Fairness in the workplace – A Berlitz story

7月 23, 2014

Union members at Berlitz are now safe from this kind of potential treatment due to a new collective agreement which clearly outlines union members’ rights during disciplinary meetings.

Union members are protected because they…

*may record the meeting or have a union observer present (scheduling permitted)
*can take away any documents which need to be signed so they can consult
*will know the nature of the meeting before they meet their manager
*will get notice of student complaints within one week of their direct supervisor getting the information

Remember, these procedures cover union members only. If you’re not in the union, or the employer is not informed of your membership, you do not have these rights.

Union membership pays and offers protection to its members.
