With amalgamations and restructuring it was announced there would be no classes available for the 2005 academic year. While we would have preferred to save the members job, there appeared to be no way to do so without a strong union branch in place. As a compromise, we were able to negotiate a substantial financial settlement equivalent to almost one year’s salary.
