While it is true we are all free to look for another job, most likely it will be another job with little security or benefits, and with a similar set of problems. So why not play a part to make Gaba a better place to work for everyone – me, you, and the instructors who will come after us? We all deserve decent treatment and working conditions. And hopping from one unstable job to the next changes the scenery, but not the situation. All workers deserve security and dignity in their workplace, but unfortunately this is very rarely given for free. It has to be earned. The first step is just to reach out and contact us. Your union reps are Gaba instructors, we are working every week at Gaba, teaching students, writing lesson records, spending our nights and weekends working, waiting to be belted up, worrying about being debelted. Paying for our own medical insurance and travel costs. We are all doing the same early starts and/or late finishes.
