It appears that those classed as Option B instructors have been sent a letter telling them that they will NOT be hired by the new company on Jan 10. This is a severe move and goes against all the promises G-Comm made to the former employees of Nova, to the receiver and indeed to the whole Japanese public – they went on the record saying all who wanted to be re-hired would be so hired – and this was the main reason the receiver agreed to have G-Comm / G-Ed come in. Therefore, despite the fact that it is the holiday season we have to call an emergency meeting of the General Union Nova branch to discuss our response to this situation. Everyone who is in Japan is asked to make a special effort to attend so that your voice can be heard and also be informed of any actions we need to take. When – Thursday, December 27th, 2007 at 10am Place – General Union offices, Temmabashi – if you haven’t been before please check out the map on our website – be outside the Starbucks on the ground level of Temmabashi station, on the crossroads of Tosa Bori Dori suji and Tanimachi suji by 9.45am. Please pass this message on to any ex-Nova employees you are in touch with. Yours, Dennis Tesolat General Union, General Secretary
