Nichibei Eigo Gakuin: Peace Talks Collapse in Tokyo

Oct 19, 2007

On 19 October settlement talks at the Central Labour Commission in Tokyo between the union and Nichibei Eigo Gakuin (Nichibei English Service) collapsed. The case will now move on to a judgement after the submission of the final statements by both sides.
The dispute seems set to continue indefinitely, with no sign on Nichibei’s part of accepting any pay rise demands or following the Osaka Labour Commission’s order of last year which ordered them to submit an apology letter to the union for slandering the union and to negotiate in good faith over pay rises.
